Dream's Rhyne Howard Ties Single-Season Steals Record in Win Over Liberty

Atlanta’s victory over the New York Liberty featured a standout defensive performance from forward Rhyne Howard, who was credited by hitc.com with tying the WNBA single‑season steals record in the win. Reddit’s r/wnba discussion, however, notes Howard finished the season with 99 steals, placing her second all‑time behind Teresa Weatherspoon’s 100, highlighting a slight discrepancy in the record claim. Regardless of the exact ranking, the Dream’s backcourt made history as Howard, alongside teammates, became the first trio in franchise history to occupy three of the league’s top‑three spots in the same statistical category. The information reflects reports from hitc.com, wnba.com highlights, and fan commentary on Reddit, indicating the achievement while acknowledging the variance in record reporting.
