LeBron James dons No. 9 in 76ers scrimmage amid swirling rumors

LeBron James appeared in a Philadelphia 76ers open scrimmage wearing jersey No. 9, a departure from his iconic No. 23. ESPN quoted James calling the scrimmage a “great first step” for the new‑look 76ers but did not address the number change. With the season approaching, the lack of clarity leaves fans uncertain about any symbolic or strategic intent behind the jersey switch. Until the 76ers or James clarify, the No. 9 choice remains an unverified story.
